Teruo Hayashi Soke, Head Master of Hayashi-Ha Shitoryu Kai (1924 - 2004)
Teruo Hayashi Soke studied under Seiko Higa (disciple of Kanryo Higaonna and the founder of Goju Ryu, Chojun Miyagi), Kosei Kuniba (disciple of Shito Ryu's founder Kenwa Mabuni and Motobu Choki) , Kenko Nakaima (founder of Ryuei Ryu Karate), Shoshin Nagamine (founder of Matsubayashi Shorin Ryu), etc. Besides teaching Shito Ryu katas, Hayashi Soke also brought in Shorin Ryu katas into his system and that includes: Tomari Bassai, Tomari Rohai. In addition, he modified and added Ryuei Ryu kata into his dojo syllabus like Annan, Pachu, Heiku and Paiku. Hayashi Soke traveled frequently to many countries to spread his karate style and nowadays, Hayashi-Ha Shitoryu Kai has organizations around the world.
