‘謙卑’ is to be humble and meek; ‘尚禮’ is to advocate and cherish ritual propriety. The words ‘尚禮’ are taken from Scholar's saying in Qing Dynasty that the rules of propriety enhance moral standard, thus strengthening and thriving home and country. (國尚禮則國昌, 家尚禮則家大)

‘練身’ is to train the body; ‘修心’ is to cultivate the mind. It stresses the importance of both physical and mental development.

‘莊敬’ is dignified manner; ‘自強’ is to keep strong and independent. These words from Confucius' teachings says man should keep the dignified and self-respectful manner to ever become strong, independent and attain advancement.
